Children's Mental Health Week

This week it is all about children's mental health.

It is all about helping young people speak up and feel empowered to talk about mental health. Each year the week has a theme, and this years is 'Know yourself, Grow yourself' and is all about encouraging children to build self awareness. In school, children are encouraged to develop their language to express how they are feeling through our PSHE lessons. In addition, ELSA sessions (Emotional Literacy Support Assistant)take place with Mrs Pearson, Sue our external counsellor comes in weekly, worry boxes are in each classroom as well as 'well - being' drop -in at lunchtimes. There are lots of resources available to parents - take a look on the school website under - 'curriculum-health and well-being information' or 'place to be' is a website full of resources for families.
