Year 3 - 2024-2025

W/E: 31/01/2025

Marcel and Charlie: These two boys have been growing in confidence in all subjects within this half-term. Both children have been noticed for their growing independence within lessons. Sometimes things can be tricky, this does not put these boys off. They will show perseverance until they grasp what it is they need and ask for help when needed. We have seen this growth throughout Year 3, particularly in Maths and Reading. Their enthusiasm for the topic shines through in their work and learning log projects, which have been amazing!. Both children are keen to get involved with any activities and give things a go, whatever it may be. They are a delight to have in the class. Well done Marcel and Charlie!

Joseph: has been noticed for his increased efforts in English and Maths. There is lots of new learning throughout Year 3 and skills that are developed from Year 2. Joseph is always so keen to join in. More recently, his work on narrative has shown his growing confidence, in generating ideas and developing them into Y3 standard sentences. In Maths, he is working hard to grasp his time tables. He is such a kind member of the class and is always wanting to cheer people up. Well done Joseph.

Sophie: has come back this year determined to do her best in everything. She has been pushing herself to grasp new knowledge in maths with timetables. She is improving her writing, creating lots of ideas and now focussing on the detail and making those small improvements. She is always keen to try and contribute to class discussions and being willing to have a go. Her enthusiasm has now gone into music as well, as she has now begun piano lessons. She is a kind and considerate person within the class, who always shows the golden rules. Well done, Sophie.

A special mention must be made to all of Y3 this week because of their impeccable behaviour and contributions to the Roman Experience day we had on Tuesday. Maximus (who led the session) told Mr Flockhart that they were the best group of Y3 children that he had worked with since September.

Grace: was noticed by Maximus and Mr Flockhart for her enthusiasm and in-depth questioning about the topic, she joined in with the activities with a ‘can do’ attitude and had an enquiring mind. She enjoyed immersing herself within a topic and story, with our current myth of ‘Romulus and Remus’ - they were questioning, identifying similarities and differences within different versions of the myth. She is a kind and considerate member of the class who is keen to achieve and be the best that she can be. She is always showing the golden rules and sets a great example for KS2. She is a great member of the class, well done Grace!

Eliza: is stepping up to challenges and pushing herself to increase her knowledge and understanding. In all subjects, this person likes to push themselves to achieve and ensures they have the right attitude to learning.  She consistently demonstrates the golden rules and Christian values at St Anne’s. She is taking responsibility for her presentation of work, and it shows. Her care and attention to small details makes a big difference. She is a pleasure to have in the class. Well done Eliza.

Jude A: has been chosen for his perseverance in learning and notably the Jingle Jog on Tuesday. Even though he was tired, he did not give up and Mrs Unwin noticed how he was making sure he stayed in the position he had set himself for the race. Jude quietly gets on with every task he is given.  He is always willing to have a go and is up for a challenge. He is a fantastic member of Class 3. Well done Jude A.

Maks: has been noticed for his attitude to learning and ever-increasing effort. He started out as a quieter member of the class. Over time, he has become more confident and outspoken. He is offering answers during discussions, and they are now pushing their learning to the next level. It is clear with the progress he is making that each day he is improving. Maks is a pleasure to have in the class, they are supportive friend to all and can always make us smile. Well done Maks.

George H and Daisy B: Two stars have been chosen specially for their involvement during the class trip. Their knowledge shone through during all the different activities, and it was clear to see their enthusiasm. They were inquisitive about the artefacts that were on display, and which were being explored more thoroughly in the cave. Both children are pushing themselves to be the best they can be in Class 3 and this is shown in their work. A great big well done to George H and Daisy B.
