St Anne’s School and church community has always been special and important to me and my family. My son and daughter attended the school in the 1980’s and 1990’s, as did my mother in the early 1930’s!! My children were baptised there as was my granddaughter, Thea and grandson, Flynn. My son Brian and daughter in law Lynsay were married there.

I have worked in Education for over thirty years. Until my retirement in April 2016 I was Headteacher at Dunham on Trent CE Primary School for twelve years. During my time in teaching I gained experience in all aspects of the education system which include knowledge of finance, Strategic Development, Personnel Matters, Pupil and Curriculum, School Improvement, Assessment and the day to day running of a school. I have first-hand experience of Ofsted and Church inspections.

Link Role: TBC

I am an active member of St Anne's Church and have a keen interest in living and raising my family in a Christian way. The church community was most welcoming to us as a family when we first attended back in 2019, and we will always be extremely thankful for the life-long friends we have made and the support they have given us. My child attends St Annes school and is very happy here. I am a secondary school teacher of Art, Photography & DT at a local Academy. I am looking forward to bringing my creativity and links with the Y6 transition process to the Governing body at St Annes. Outside of my busy working life, I enjoy being a Mum, spending time with family and friends and also playing netball in a couple of local league teams. As a family, we are in touch with our rural roots. My husband is a farmer, so we are keen on homegrown produce and the importance of knowing where your food comes from.

Earl Richards

Governor Category: Foundation Governor Appointed by: St Anne's PCC

Date joined governing body: November 2023

Current term of office: CEM to update

Committee Membership: Admissions, SDC

Link Role: TBC

I am Earl Richards, I am a dad of two boys Ollie Tom, and Luca and husband to Kate. As I write this, my eldest son Ollie Tom attends St Annes school and additionally, both my wife and I attended many years ago.

In my day job, I am a senior manager within the Energy Industry working for Cadent Gas who are a Gas Distribution Network Transporting Gas to 12 million homes and businesses.

In my role, I work within the Strategy and Regulations team where I lead a dedicated team to support customers living in fuel poverty and who are suffering from the energy crisis. The main part of my role and accountability is to see how we as a business cannot leave a customer vulnerable within their home and without Gas.

Out of work, I am fortunate to coach U9 football both in a Saturday Junior Premier League and the Doncaster Junior league on Sundays. Most of my week/ spare time is dedicated to coaching junior football. Something that I love to do and am proud to do. Also to support St Annes when needed to coach the juniors when and where possible. I am keen to help and provide children with the most opportunities possible in life.

When I do have time to myself, I love to play squash or run. More importantly though, I love spending time with my wife, sons, and dog Luna. Whether this be on holiday somewhere warm or a nice walk to the pub for a cheeky drink.

I've been the Vicar at St Anne's Church since July 2017 and foundation governor at the school since that time. Both my sons, who are now at the secondary school, are past students at St Anne's and as parents we are very appreciative of the nurturing and caring community they were part of before moving on. I am passionate about good governance in our schools, both holding leadership to account and providing the best pastoral support to staff, children and families in the school. I care deeply about a shared community across the school and the church, and to be a seamless relationship between the two, upholding our Christian values and ethos. I've been a governor at other schools, both church and local authority controlled, in my previous parishes for the last 15 years and bring a wealth of experience to this role, from both my professional and personal life.

Register of interests & other positions held:  Governor at Cuckney CofE Primary School, Member of the Trustee Board at Sparken Hill Academy and Governor at Outwood Grange Portland Secondary School.

Amanda-Jane (known as AJ) Ridout

Current term of office: 9th October 2023 - 8th October 2027
Register of interests & other positions held: Parent to one child in Year 3 and one in Year 6
Committee membership: Admissions, Strategic Development Committee

I am a parent of 2 children at St Anne's in Years 3 and 6. I'm married to Darren and have lived in the area for 10 years. My background is community engagement around contentious environmental issues, in both the public and private sector.

I have been a PCC Governor since 2019 (my very first meeting was the Ofsted Inspector feedback!). I'm passionate about the Church and the School and hope to contribute to building these relationships.  It's been quite a journey as a Governor to understand how schools run behind the scenes (mostly on zoom due to Covid)! I started working in the school office part-time in 2022. I have recently (October 2023) moved to be a Staff Governor as a member of staff team.

I love the values and ethos of the school and feel called to help and support the children at a valuable and important time of their learning. I live in Worksop and have a menagerie of animals to add to our busy family!

Since retiring, I have taken up an advisory role with Citizens Advice. I have been involved with children's work in a church setting for over 30 years. I am very keen to be involved with St-Annes school as a parent of past pupils and I am passionate about education and the development of children.
